Pilot program in 19 buildings
Wayne State’s Green Team, a division of Facilities Planning and Management, expanded its blue-bag recycling program in April 2009 by piloting a new source-separation program. The pilot program began in 19 buildings on the main and medical campuses and includes AVI dining facilities and residence halls. Environmental Health and Safety, Office Max and Hewlett Packard are partnering in the program.

Acceptable items in pilot program
Recycling containers in the 19 facilities accept plastics 1-7, paper magazines, cardboard, clear glass, and universal waste including CDs, cell phones, batteries, ink and toner cartridges and light bulbs.
