- April 24 2014 at 9:00 AMParking Lot 11Dispose of your e-waste at Wayne State University, April 24th, 2014 Event held, 9 am - 4 pm, at Parking Lot 11 (Accessed off Cass Ave., North of I-94) Wayne State students, faculty, staff and all persons who live, work, or play in the city of Detroit are invited to take advantage of an annual opportunity to get rid of their old and unwanted electronic items, or (e-waste), in a responsible manner for recycling. This is your chance to dispose of old computers, monitors and other associated equipment, while ensuring that they are securely and properly handled. This event is free, open to the public, and personal items are welcome. Type of equipment to be accepted for recycling: • Central processing units (towers or laptops)• Computer monitors• Printers• Keyboards and mice• Computer speakers• Switches and servers• Routers and hubs• Televisions and stereos (and similar audio devices)• Xerographic and other copiers• Facsimile (fax) machines• Personal data assistants (PDAs)• Cellular telephones and pagers• Desk phones and other telecom equipment• Cameras• Wire and cables• Household electronics not containing oil or Freon Please Note: No refrigeration units or major appliances can be accepted. See below for a partial list of items that will be accepted. WSU Departments – If you are disposing of tagged equipment during this e-waste event, you must have Property Management’s approval.
